Shopping With Mom

I took off early yesterday to spend time with Mom and the stepdad only to find them out when I got home. So I decided to mow the yard before the rain came. I did something goofy to the yard, I'll post a pic of it soon.

When Mom got back, I decided to take her shopping. We stopped at Sam's Club so I could snag the Star Wars Trilogy and the first season of Scrubs, the latter at the recommendation of the very cute jeremasaur. Afterwards Mom and I did a spin at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. There are no good art stores in Corbin, so Mom loads up on paints and craft stuff while she's here. After the first two places, I took Mom to Old Time Pottery in Florence, KY. I love that place, so much stuff to browse through. Yeah, I'm gay, what did you expect? In the middle of the store was a huge 25-30 ft long bin of throw pillows. I sat on the rail of it, just fell back into it, and sank nearly to the bottom. My mom was laughing and nervous that I'd get caught. I nearly got stuck as I couldn't pull myself out very easily. No manager saw me, so there.

Mom is heading home today. As much as I love her visiting, I admit I'm looking forward to having the house to myself again. It will be nice to leave my 100% Beef magazines lying about without worrying that Mom will accidently pick one up and then call a Baptist preacher to cleanse my home of the devil (joke).

... and just three days until Friday when a certain scifibear99 will be visiting :)

They are fun. I actually wore Mom out a bit. Old Time Pottery is one of my favorite places, I can browse in there for hours and the place is huge.

completely understand about stashing the 100% Beef issues. not sure the boys could take that quite yet. they haven't asked about my "type" of man....thank god for that!!!LOL But that magazine would pretty much answer that question in a heartbeat!!!

Well, it's not like I have them strewn about the house, but I have found one under my coffee table once. I thought, "oh nuts, I hope Mom didn't see that."

I think kids haven't yet developed the concept of "type" yet; sexuality itself is too much of a recent discovery and a mystery to them! (That's my take, anyway.) But with time... watch out, you may find them wanting to play matchmaker for their daddy! (I almost said "pimp for their daddy" but I realized that would be HIGHLY inappropriate.) ;-)
