Wednesday and the Car Meme
Overall, not a bad day, not the greatest either, but I'll live. I did snag lunch at Don Pablo's with my co-workers and got to sit next to a handsome daddy bear. They always make things better.
And because I'm up to it, here's the car meme:
This isn't exactly the car, but it's pretty close. My first car was a 1984 (I think) Pontiac 6000LE. It was painted solid black with the crappiest paint job imaginable. The rubber door bumpers actually fell off in the parking lot at work one day and wouldn't stick back ever again. Despite it's looks, it ran like a dream and handled better than any other car I've had, I think. I bought the car right after my graduation from college, just as I had started working.
My baby met its demise six months after I got it. On a cold January evening while back home, I was driving away from my sister's new apartment. Not being overly familiar with the road, I was driving too fast and turned left when I should have turned right. I still recall screaming my head off as I went sliding down a 50 ft embankment and crashing the car into the stone wall of a nearby buidling. I was fine, the car was wrecked, and ironically the building was the local EMT/amublance office. I was extremely sad as I really loved that car, gone way too soon (before it was paid off).

As Brian would say to me, "Jerk."
