Good Day, Good Dinner, Bad Drive Home

Work went quickly today and I was happy to take off early for a quick doctor's appointment. Afterwards, I went to the gym and did 45 minutes on the elliptical trainer. I came home, showered and changed and went up to West Chester for dinner with cincycub, knepbear, Aaron and Sean, Eric, and Matt at Red Robin.

Red Robin has good food and the waitress was pretty good too. The only negative was that the place was FULL of kids tonight. Ugh... And apparently, they were all having birthdays because the servers were clapping and singing a lot tonight. Afterwards, the guys ended up going to see Guess Who at the movies, but I decided to head home because I was beat.

About four miles from home, my car starting shaking and I heard that dreadful thumping that I have luckily heard only rarely. My front driver's side tire had gone flat. Needless to say, I was pissed. So along the side of the highway, in the near dark, with semi trucks driving 70 MPH not six feet from me, I had to put the temporary "donut" tire on my car. My nerves are shot. Changing a tire is not that bad under the right circumstances, but these were hardly ideal. As Gilda Radner often said, "It's Always Something."

When I finally got home, I checked out the hole in the tire. I'm not sure if I hit something or if the tire just burst from the inside, but it's in the wall of the tire, so I'm buying a new one tomorrow for sure. Unless I can get it done early, I may not be heading to see Big River tomorrow afternoon. Sorry cincycub... :(

LOL! I was "this close" to calling a tow truck, but then realized I'd have to have him come back to drag my car to the nearest Sam's the next day.

With the trucks whizzing by, I'm shocked I got it on too!

Sorry about the tire. It always happens at the wrong time and the wrong place. By the way, I happen to work for a Honda dealership. If you ever need anything, let me know. I hope you make it to see Big River.

And I'm afraid the flat and the fixing of the flat really fouled up my mood, I decided to skip Big River. :(
