My ten things....

Copied from [livejournal.com profile] artsycub,

10 things I've done that most of you probably haven't

  1. Finished 1st grade in two months and skipped to 2nd grade.
  2. Received an autographed picture of Casey Kasem after submitting a trivia question to him on the "America's Top Ten" show. I was eight.
  3. Participated in Mathcounts in junior high, a precursor to being a "mathlete."
  4. Took a course in "Humor Writing" in college. Got an "A."
  5. Was a political cartoonist for my college newspaper.
  6. Won an auction for an original Leonard & Larry cartoon on eBay.
  7. Visited Scott's Grotto in Ware, Hertfordshire, England.
  8. Visited the Colosseum in Rome.
  9. Saw Jerry Springer at my favorite Irish pub.
  10. Picked up a British schoolteacher in an internet cafe in Milan, Italy (a cautionary tale for another day).

So if we manage to meet while I'm in Cincy, will you show me your original L&L cartoon? ;-)

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
LOL.. it's a bit too large to carry around :)

[identity profile] kakiniry.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! I was a Mathlete too! I feel a bond :)

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.. I actually did fairly well in it, I placed third in the state finals my 7th grade year. I still have the trophy.

You left THAT part of the story (see number 10) out of your "trip report!" *laugh*

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. I swore I'd never tell anyone about it, but I've learned to laugh about it now.

[identity profile] mat-t.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
So now we need to hear it so that we can learn to laugh about it too. *g*

[identity profile] bleuvalentines.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] mat_t! I think we need to be able to share in your laughter! *wink*

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.. [livejournal.com profile] mat_t is a handsome and wicked man, beware his influence. Hmmm... I don't know if I can tell this story to you, it may shatter your image of me. Plus it involves.. (gasp) sex ... of a sort.

[identity profile] bleuvalentines.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Are ya' kiddin' me??? *laugh* I think you know me better than that by now! ;)

And *duh* ... of course it involves sex! Why do you think everyone wants to know! *laugh* A story involving misery ("one of the most miserable experiences of my life") AND involving sex. It's gotta' be good. ;)

(Actually, if it really was that bad, I'm just glad you can laugh at it now!)

Ooooohh, CLOSE.

Number Five: "Was a political cartoonist for my college newspaper."

Well, I was a cartoonist for my high school newspaper. One cartoon about the cafeteria food got me in plenty of hot water.

LOL.. I started doing mine after a friend who worked on the paper saw a cartoon I did for a science building poster. My best was the one about the term bill hike one year. In retrospect, the hike wasn't too bad, all things considered, but it was college. We had to protest something ;)

I've been to the Colosseum in Rome too, but did you have your picture taken with the cheesy gladiators outside the Colosseum (I didn't, way to cheesy even for this American tourist).

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.. well, I couldn't help myself when it came to the Roman gladiators and cheesy pics. He was just too cute (http://home.fuse.net/mparmon/HTML/Photo/roman.jpg).

*cowers in embarrassed shame*

[identity profile] bleuvalentines.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww! He let you wear his hat ... that hundreds of other sweaty tourists had ... yuck, I have to stop there. *tee hee*

I mean, come on, touristy yeah, but ya' have to do it! It's become part of the culture of the visit! Like the "beefeaters" at the Tower of London. (Now I KNOW you want to check that out, I mean, come on ... beefeater? *wink*)

[identity profile] spatts5.livejournal.com 2005-03-06 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Great pic!!! but I think you're cuter.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-03-07 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Awww.. thanks.. you're quite the cute one yourself.
