Working from Home

Luckily I have a lengthy report to write so my boss let me work at home today. It was good because there's one or two co-workers who are driving me nuts with silly questions. It's almost impossible to get anything done there somedays. So, I dragged all my stuff here and worked for three hours last night, so I could have some of the morning off today. Taxpayers, don't worry, you'll get your money's worth today, I assure you.

I made it to the gym this morning, saw this nice bearded, furry guy in the locker room, did my workout, came back to see him dressed in a uniform... he's a US Customs agent, complete with gun! I almost wanted to strike up a conversation with him as we work closely with them sometimes, but I decided against it. He seemed to be in a hurry.

It's 9 AM, I need to get started. Working from home... in my PJ's no less... yay!!!

Thanks! My mom bought them for me for Christmas one year, before I came out of the closet (little did she know) ;)

I LIVE for the day when I have a job where I can work from home......*sigh*

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I don't do it often. I've only done this probably four or five times in two years.

[identity profile] daltxfurry.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Still at least it can be an option for you. Hehehehe

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very true. I can inspect the companies at their plant and work from home when the need arises.

It's not always a blessing. I can sometimes work from home, but it's sooooo easy to get distracted there. At least for me, it requires a lot more effort to get actual work done at home. *g*

Actually, you'd be amazed how much you can get done typing with a laptop on your lap watching Gilmore Girls on DVD... like today ;)

I have a friend who works from home 3 or 4 days of the week. He actually gets up at the same time, takes a shower, cleans up...all that.....then sits down at his desk at the same time every day. He said as long as he stays in that routine he is fine

I try to mimic the work, start around 7 AM and work until whatever time when 8 hrs is finished. I can type and work on it for about an hour at a stretch, then need to get up and move around a bit.

[identity profile] daltxfurry.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing wrong with that. you are supposed to get up every hour or so any way and walk around

Why are there customs agents so far away from any borders?

[identity profile] mat-t.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
International airports?

[identity profile] cincycub.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Duh. I'm apparently a moron. Thanks for pointing it out, sweetie :)

[identity profile] mat-t.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
But you're a cute moron. ;)

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.. yes he is. We also have Customs agents at the larger carriers, such as Fed-Ex and UPS as a lot of things get shipped into the country through them.

.. and I've heard many of them are burly and hot!

[identity profile] cmorley.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey! You stole my slippers! ;)

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.. You have them too??? Good for you, they do keep the feet warm on cold mornings.

[identity profile] cmorley.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
... and they're very stylish!

I got them a long time ago, before I was 100% certain about myself, let alone know what a 'bear' was. So, like you, in retrospect this is kind of funny. :)

I am soooo jealous. I want to be home working. I even asked if i could and was shot down. It's snowing here now. I am not designed for snow. UGH.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, you have my sympathy there. I only work at home on an occasional basis. If I asked to do it more regularly, I'm sure I'd be shot down.

When you get finished, reward yourself with some alcohol-laced hot cocoa and some reruns of Sex and the City. Does wonders. I'm just saying.

[identity profile] kybearfuzz.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I can imagine what my report would look like if I typed it after some Irish coffee!

[identity profile] vicvmichael.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
sounds yummy!

LOL.. I don't dial in, my computer has software that can work offline for at-home work.

???

A furry guy in a locker room and in a uniform is that two fantasies in one?

LOL.. it does have the makings of a good gay porn movie, doesn't it?
