Home at Last
I finally made the journey from Corbin to home. I miss my house and worry about it a lot when gone, but I also was having a good time with the family and friends so I have mixed feelings about getting back.
Arriving at home, I now know the wintery disaster everyone up here has talked about. I saw my home covered in beautiful white snow. I had to go in through the front door as the driveway was blanketed. I knew I was in trouble when I stepped on the foot-thick snow... and didn't sink. Now I weigh a little over 200 lbs, so this was serious. I couldn't get my car in the drive and my driveway was a thick sheet of ice. I borrowed a heavy shovel from my neighbor and went to it. Two hours later I was covered in sweat and sore in places left unmentioned, but the drive was somewhat cleared. Here are before and after pics.

The house at 4 PM

My house much much later...
A quick drive to Skyline for dinner, a fast HOT shower to soothe aching muscles, and the emptying of the very full car, I settled in. Here is a pic of the University of Kentucky Quilt my mom made. I'm not an alumnus of the school, but most everyone in KY is a UK fan. I'm still tickled with it.

That's it for me, I'm so tired, I'm hardly keeping my eyes open. I dread work tomorrow. If I'm still sore, I may call off.
