Monday Morning Rant On....

... The Foghorn.

For those of you who have not read this before, the Foghorn is my arch-nemesis here in office. Possessing no sense of tact and very little intelligence, this airheaded secretary somehow gets on my nerves like no other person on earth.

Because of her lack of organizational skills.. or any other skill for that matter.., I have to do a filing project that eats up time on my part. I came to my new cubicle to find several boxes full of multiple volumes of paper that needed to be cataloged and stored. I was not in the mood for this and just wondered why I'm having to do a secretarial chore when the dingbat was running around annoying my weary co-workers.

I've come to the conclusion that it's due to her backwater genetic inbreeding. How else could she possibly have barely enough mental capacity to walk and seven toes on each foot. She should be in the Guinness Book of Records for the lowest functioning IQ. She makes Anna Nicole look like Einstein. I should think of ways to do her in, like putting a scratch n' sniff sticker at the bottom of a pool...

.. ah, evil thoughts passing.. I feel better ;)

And of course you are probably still expected to do all your job at the same time. I don't even know this woman, but I want to come over there and smack her into next Tuesday for you.

When do you think you could get here?

If you're doing stuff she should be doing, can't you take this issue to management?

Oh dear, things must be so much better for you Canadians! The management here is more than aware of her shortcomings, but it takes a near miracle to get a gov't employee fired in the States, because she does just enough work to get by. It's like walking to Russia via the North Pole route. It's possible in theory, but very few people put forth the effort to try it out.

I wasn't thinking of getting her fired, but rather getting her to do her work.

Ah, but sometimes the management view is that it's easier to get someone to do it right the first time than to try to get someone to correct the mistakes of someone who cannot do it and tried.

I have a mantra that gets me through dealing with stupid people, reminding me how bad people look adorned in prison garb. Assume the lotus position and repeat after me...

"Orange Jumpsuit ... Orange Jumpsuit ... Ornage Jumpsuit"

True, but you have to admit that the orange jumpsuit does solve the age old question, "What am I going to wear to work today?"

Prison isn't Oz, man. Prison isn't Oz.
