Candles, Dredd and Stuff

After work on Friday, I drove 40 miles north to the outlet stores to buy candles. [livejournal.com profile] jeepdude_70 and I had gone a few weeks back and he got me hooked on the Yankee Candle scent "Leather." I burned through the large candle I bought then, so I went there to get more. It's a discontinued scent, which is surprising because it seems so original. I bought way too many of them, but I should be set for a while. :)

Saturday, I went to see Dredd 3D. This movie was FUN! Very gory, very true to the comic book, full of action with a cool (yet simple) plot, some comedy, and interesting special effects. I'm surprised there isn't more hype about this movie. I think it has a 76% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes still.

Yesterday was a typical Sunday. I worked out, ate lunch, and did laundry. Thankfully, there was a South Park marathon on to keep me occupied. I'm up to page 8 of issue #9 of the comic, which surprises the heck out of me.

Now it's Monday. Where did the weekend go???

Yay for progress on the comic!
Thanks for the movie revue - yeah, it's surprising there hasn't been more hype about the film.
I think candles are cool, though seldom burn them myself for fear I'll walk off absent-mindedly and just leave 'em burning. I do use a scent plug-in in the kitchen (Wallflower brand)...took me a while to discover scents I like. The latest are 'Twilight Woods' and 'Tiki Beach' - silly names, but very nice on the nose.

I know. I drew page 11 last night. Ten more to go and a cover then the inking begins.

And you sound like me when it comes to scents. I refrain from food scents (they make me hungry) and overly perfumed scents (they give me headaches), but there are some that are wonderfully subtle that I like.
