Mark the Rum-Runner

My brother and sister both requested I do a beer run for them before I came home for the weekend. For those who are unaware of the odd nature of Kentucky, the lower half of the state is made up of "dry" counties, counties where you cannot buy alcohol.

Growing up in a dry county is rough. Making alcohol unavailable instantly makes it taboo and the teenagers go in droves to the bootleggers to get beer or whiskey. And, of course, Kentucky is well known for its natives making their own special brew.

Naturally, my siblings ask me to bring them beer so they don't have to drive the hour themselves to buy it. I snagged a four-pack of Murphy's Irish Stout while I was there. I don't see it very often and I don't mind an occasional beer at home, although I typically don't drink much. I guess we'll all be downing a few over the holidays. ;)
