I am home from my two-day Christmas excursion to see my folks. Things are well with nearly everyone, so that's a relief in itself. We opened Christmas presents last night after dinner. My brother's fiancee made enough food to feed an entire army platoon. For my nephew's first Christmas, it was a good one. He stares at me as though I have a third eye, but then I'm not around him that much. My other local nephew (the 11-year-old) ended up with a major haul, even though he did wake his folks up at 3 AM to open them. He was forced to sleep for another four hours before he made it.
A highlight of the weekend was a call from the ever handsome and sweetsusobear, who phoned from Spain to wish me a Merry Christmas. The drive home was good too, listening to David Sedaris' "Naked" on iPod. I had no idea he was so funny...
