Training Day

Today turned out far different than I expected. I came in planning to do a few side things and start an inspection. Then I was asked to put on some impromptu software training. I had no reserved room, no computers set up, no materials ready, and my class attendees were unknown. What did I say? "Sure!"

Put the whole thing together in the morning, went to lunch, and taught all afternoon. Overall it went extremely well, I thought. I'm pretty pleased with myself that I can throw it together so quickly and still have a functional training class. It's late and I'm still at work, but I'm feeling good.

LOL... I taught a database system software my office uses nationwide called FACTS (Field Accomplishment and Compliance Tracking System). It's what we use to log in all of our inspectional findings and time and use to monitor our legal cases. It's a massive database and I've been training on it for nearly six years now.

My students were office secretaries who picked it up very quickly, even better than some of the investigators I work with.
