DC and Back

after dinner, outside The Barking Dog in Bethesda, MD

It's been a busy week. I was in DC this week, taking a class and teaching part of another one (whew!). I'm getting a lot of mileage out of my brownie scout photo as I threw it up on the big screen for my students to see during my presentation on Tuesday. It garnered some much needed after-lunch laughs from the students. I got a lot of good comments from them during the week about my presentation.

I did manage to grab dinner with the handsome three above on Thursday night before meeting my class gang in the Dog for beer and karaoke. No, I didn't sing this time as I had to go to bed early for my test the next morning. We had some good conversations and I offered Andy my brownie outfit for when he sells cookies with his daughter.

The week was interesting and I passed my test, though not with the large margin I was hoping for. Still, I passed which is all I wanted. Long day at the airport though and I'm happy to be home.

A Brief Episode of Dating Drama ...

... though not my own.

I have lately been lamenting my single status and lack of dating. Luckily, my work has kept me relatively busy so that I haven't had too much time to focus on it. Tonight, though, I was feeling a tad on the lonely side for some reason. I decided to hit an Indian restaurant for dinner. If I wasn't going to have a date tonight, I might as well load my system with definite date deterrents, like garlic breath and pores that will exude the unmistakable scent of curry.

Seated alone at a booth, I ordered my dinner and opened my sketchpad for some doodling while I waited for it to arrive. In the booth behind me, I overheard the following:

Him: "So are you not even going to smile tonight?"
Her: "Smile about what?"
