Fridays, Hello's and Goodbye's
Today was a much better day, a mix of happy and sad for two different events.
The sad event was saying goodbye to a co-worker who has taken a new job. He has worked in my office for 13 years and I've known him for nine of those years. I'm glad he's moving on to bigger and better things, but it's rough to see him go. We all brought in potluck today, and can we generate a spread -- burgers, chips, dips, soups, and cakes of all varieties -- and almost none of it fat or sugar free. He will be missed.
The happy event was my having a quick coffee after work with a buddy I've been chatting with for several months. He came down from Detroit to spend the weekend with his burly significant other, but wanted to meet me in person. He's a nice guy, very cute, and attached to a great bear-type. I'm both happy for him and envious.
Well, I'm taking it easy tonight, have to pack tomorrow, and I'm off to Washington DC on Sunday. Work, work, work..... ah, well, what can I do...
