I keep hoping that "Pride" will find itself into wider release thanks to word of mouth, but I know its gay themes might make that difficult. Still, I can hope.
As for horror flicks, I have always loved the thrill of being scared in a safe way. It's the same reason I love roller coasters, haunted houses, etc. And when someone gets scared during these things, I just assume they're feeling the same feelings I do.
The only real negative is that I have gotten so used to scary movies that I often can predict the scare before it happens. There is an art to it and several devices and shots that film makers use and overuse. When I recognize such a device, I usually know what is coming and brace myself. So when a scary movie scares me, that is some good stuff!!
